Vietnamese markets: the beating heart of this Country
An incredible blast of colors, smells, voices and sounds. Sounds of sacks dragged on the street, knives sharpening, water baskets being emptied on the sidewalk. Ripe smells coming from piping hot pots, smell of raw meat and fish.
And then you can hear the women calling people, chatting and telling the latest gossip stories, women wearing light weight and breathable fabric clothes made of cotton or linen to protect themselves against hot temperature and humidity and conical hats secured on their chins by colourful ribbons.
Vietnam history is written here, at the markets, among people waking up every day early in the morning to sell their products, methodically exposed in a colours and shapes triumph, with their sunburnt faces and rough, overworked hands.
It's here you can catch the real essence of Vietnam and here are some pics we have taken trying to bring back home with us a glimpse of that charming and unique side of this land.
